What is pleasure?
Soraya Leila Emery, as Associated Artist of TanzPlan Ost, is diving headfirst into a year-long project all about pleasure and needs your contributions for her Pleasure Scores! These Pleasure Scores have already been explored in various workshops with participants in collaboration with TanzPlan Ost at Tanzfest St. Gallen and Rösslisaal Trogen.
What's a Pleasure Score? It is a detailed written representation, made up of a few words or sentences, that guides readers in experiencing a specific moment of pleasure. Think of it as a partition, a written composition.
The Pleasure Score describes a moment—specific or vague—an activity, a situation, a dream, or a sensation that makes you feel amazing, relaxed, or alive. Maybe it’s the taste of your favorite ice cream eaten at a particular pace, being held tight, walking barefoot in the sand, seeing the valley from the perspective of an eagle, or feeling heard...
Pleasure is personal, unique, and surprising; it's something we all experience differently. That’s why Soraya Leila wants to hear what pleasure means to you! The scores will be explored as research material by performers in the studio.
Contribute to broadening the definition of pleasure by sending in your Pleasure Scores via email to soraya.emery@gmail.com.
We can't wait to hear what makes you feel good and to explore your scores!
