TURN ON-A Research On Pleasure is a dance piece exploring female pleasure by merging contemporary dance and grappling techniques by two performers from the MENA regions (Morocco, Egypt).
The three-chapter choreographic score is a game of ever-changing and ambivalent power dynamics, submission and dominance, a fight for their rights to pleasure. The sequences repeat themselves, in light or in darkness, giving a sensory perceptual experience of the sensual friction of their movements. The score, gliding on the floor, deconstructs and abstracts components of grappling techniques, with taping for safety, takedowns, pins, hooks and locks to endless repetition and exhaustion.
